FAR 52.213-1
Fast Payment Procedure

Federal Acquisition Regulation · Payment · Updated 2026-08-26
fast paymentfast payinvoicecash flowshipment

What it says

Allows the government to pay on the supplier's submission of an invoice representing that supplies have been shipped — before government receipt and inspection. Limited to smaller-dollar shipments and requires the supplier to replace, repair, or correct supplies later found damaged or nonconforming.

Why it matters on DIBBS

Fast-pay RFQs mean cash hits your account on shipment, not after destination acceptance — a major working-capital advantage. The trade: you carry the risk until the government is satisfied.
